Andrew Wallis is a certified and fully insured fitness consultant based here on the Isle of Man. Andrew's areas of expertise include helping busy executives women in their 30-40’s lose fat and gain muscle and helping seniors fight the signs of ageing. Q: Why are Andrew Wallis’s fitness programs more effective than other trainers or gym’s fitness programs?
Answer:
Rather than adopt a one size fits all approach, my programs are tailored to fit each individual client’s exact requirements. After all no one person is the same.
Most fitness programs emphasise improvement in overall fitness and strength, hoping this will create the body shape you desire. More often than not this does not happen and you end up unhappy.
My programs are designed to help reshape your body. You will gain strength, be healthier and fitter whilst creating the body you want.
Q: What’s the difference between your fitness programs and what other trainers or gym’s fitness provide?
Answer:
A lot of trainers train clients the same way as they train themselves without any thought given to the uniqueness of your body. Their thinking is “if it works for me then it will work for you”.
Not only will I not do this, but I will teach you how to perform exercises correctly and safely.
For you to be able to reshape your body, you must be able to feel and control your muscles. I will teach you how to do this.
A lot of trainers have you performing the same workout every time, over and over again for months or even years! This does not allow your body to adapt and as such you will not see the results you desire. In contrast, I will provide you with an ever-evolving and varied workout that you will look forward to.
Q: What does your fitness programs consist of?
Answer:
My programs combine weight training, cardiovascular exercise (cycling, walking, rowing etc) and an easy to follow nutritional program. By following such a program it is possible for you to transform the shape of your body and dramatically improve your health, strength and self-image.
Using my techniques it is possible for you to lose an average of 16 pounds in 8 weeks.
Even if you have never had success losing fat or gaining muscle before, my individually tailored program will work for you. CLICK HERE now to check my packages and find out how quickly you can get in the best shape of your life!
Q: How much fat can I lose with your Training Systems?
Answer:
The short answer is, “a lot”. To be more specific, you should be able to lose one pound of body fat each week (in addition to following sound fat loss nutritional practices). At the same time, you should expect to gain or maintain muscle. Overall, total weight loss will be about one or two pounds per week.
Q: What is most effective form of cardiovascular training: bike, run, or elliptical?
Answer:
On paper, running would be most effective, followed by the cycle, then the elliptical. The bike is my preferred form of cv training as there is less chance of injury compared to running (particularly on a treadmill).
Q: When is the best time to workout?
Answer:
In general, there is no best time to workout. Someone who trains in the afternoon should get the same results as someone who trains in the morning, all other things being equal (i.e. nutrition, workout intensity, etc.).
The two most important considerations for determining your workout time are that:
a) You are able to train with sufficient intensity
b) You are able to eat a sufficient pre- and post-workout meal
Q: How important are rest days? Can I do extra workouts on those days?
Answer:
Rest days are extremely important! It is during these days that your body recovers from your workouts and as such you should refrain from doing any form of heavy exercise.
Q: I am overweight and I don’t each much at all. How can I lose weight?
Answer:
Your Basal Metabolic Rate is higher than the daily total amount of calories that you are consuming. Your will begin to lose Fat Free Mass and your Basal Metabolic Rate will reduce. Your Fat Mass could increase and you will not lose weight. You need to increase your intake of food but in the correct proportions of protein, carbohydrates and fats.
Q: I don't want big muscles I just want to lose some fat from my stomach area, is there an exercise I can do that will help me lose weight around my waist?
Answer:
No, spot reduction does not work. Exercising your mid section too frequently could actually make your waist bigger! This is because your abdominal muscles will grow in size. Body fat and muscle are not the same so exercising the muscle in the area will not reduce fat.
Q: Can I turn my fat into muscle?
Answer:
Fat and muscle are not interchangeable. To change the shape of your body you must grow muscle and reduce body fat.
